What authority does the Lottery Supervision Council have in conducting the prize draw?

When organizing the lottery draw, the Lottery Supervision Council has the following powers as stipulated in Article 8 of Circular 76/2013/TT-BTC:

- Request the Lottery Company to provide new equipment, additional equipment, remove and replace equipment that does not meet the standards required to serve the activities of organizing the lottery draw;- Randomly select balls to check their weight and size before the lottery draw (if necessary);- Temporarily suspend the lottery draw in the following cases:

- The equipment used for the lottery draw is unsealed before the Lottery Supervision Council begins its session;- The equipment does not meet the requirements to ensure the objectivity and truthfulness of the lottery results;- The lottery draw is not organized according to the announced schedule (date, time) and location by the Lottery Company;- There are signs of fraud in the organization of the lottery draw.

- Request the Lottery Company to re-conduct the lottery draw in the following cases:

- Organizing the lottery draw not in the order of each prize category as announced in the lottery draw rules;- During the drawing, balls fall out of the machine or balls get stuck in the machine.

- Request the direct agency appointing members to the Lottery Supervision Council to discipline or recommend the competent authority to investigate and handle cases of violations or signs of fraud in the organization of the lottery draw according to legal regulations.
