Vietnam: The grassroots trade union is allowed to extend the duration of the collective labor agreement

According to Article 5 of Circular No. 14/2014/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, the grassroots trade union in military enterprises is responsible for representing the collective of workers in negotiating, signing, and monitoring the implementation of collective labor agreements, specifically as follows:

- Collecting information, gathering recommendations, and proposing relevant content regarding the implementation of collective labor agreements; requesting negotiations with the director, general director, or head of the enterprise.

- Representing the collective of workers in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements; amending, supplementing, and extending the duration of collective labor agreements as prescribed by labor laws.

- Disseminating collective labor agreements to workers, monitoring the implementation of collective labor agreements in the enterprise; requesting the head of the enterprise to comply with the collective labor agreement; requesting the resolution of collective labor disputes when the head of the enterprise fails to fully implement or violates the collective labor agreement as prescribed by labor laws.
