Vietnam: Summary on safety requirements applicable to machine room-less electric lifts

This is a notable content of Circular No. 48/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam on National technical regulation on safe work for machine room-less electric lift.

According to Circular No. 48/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, depending on whether the lift is domestically manufactured or imported, safety requirements will be different, specifically as follows:

Safety requirements applicable to domestically manufactured lifts:

- The technical dossier must be sufficiently available.

- Domestically manufactured lifts must have their conformity certified.

- Conformity of lifts must be declared as prescribed.

- Conformity mark must be attached before putting a lift into use.

Safety requirements applicable to imported lifts:

- The technical dossier must be sufficiently available.

- When imported, lifts must have their conformity certified.

- If imported lifts are not subject to any quality inspection upon import under bilateral or multilateral agreements between competent authorities of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and exporting states, they will be exempted from import inspection.

Circular No. 48/2016/TT-BLĐTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam takes effect from August 01, 2017.
