Under Decree 99/2006/ND-CPthe inspection delegation in Vietnam is established under the decision of the person with inspection power or the authority tasked with the inspection. Inspections conducted by establishing an inspection delegation must be specified in the inspection plan of the state regulatory authority, except for unscheduled inspections.

In the case of an unscheduled inspection, the inspection delegation must notify the inspected entity of the inspection time and content no later than 1 working day before the inspection day. For inspection delegations led by the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, the Office of the Government of Vietnam is responsible for preparing the content; summarizing and announcing the inspection conclusions of the Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam.

Therefore, the activities of the inspection delegation in Vietnam are as follows:

- The inspection delegation has the right to work directly with the inspected entity; request the inspected entity to report and provide information and documents serving the inspection; request relevant state agencies or experts to evaluate reports, information, and documents provided by the inspected entity;

- The duration of the inspection delegation's activities is decided by the individual who issued the decision to establish the inspection delegation.
