Vietnam: Guidelines for quarantine of animal products coming from the disease announcement area transported out of the provincial areas

This is a featured content specified in Circular No. 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam providing for the quarantine of aquatic animals and animal products.

According to Circular No. 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the quarantine of aquatic animal products coming from the disease announcement area transported out of the provincial areas shall be conducted as follows:

- Checks the amount, type and size of aquatic animal products;

- Checks the compliance with regulations on preliminary treatment and processing of aquatic products before taking them out of the disease announcement area;

- Checks the condition of packaging, storage and sensory evaluation towards the aquatic animal products;

- Checks the veterinary sanitary conditions of means of transportation and the accompanied objects;

- Complies with the provisions under Point d, dd and g, Article 6 of this Circular;

- Carries out or monitors the commodity owner’s clean-up and disinfection of means of transportation and the accompanied objects before the commodities are loaded onto the means of transportation;

- Checks and monitors the course of loading of aquatic animal products onto the means of transportation; seals the means of transportation; Carries out or monitors the commodity owner’s clean-up and disinfection of place of commodity concentration and loading and unloading.
