Vietnam: Growing trees causing violation of the safety distance to the overhead power stations shall be fined up to VND 5 million

This is a content mentioned in the Decree No. 134/2013/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government stipulating the sanction against administrative violation in the field of electricity, safety of hydroelectric dam, thrifty and effective use of energy.

According to the Decree No. 134/2013/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, a fine of between 1,000,000 dong and 5,000,000 dong shall be imposed on one of the acts of growing trees or let the trees cause violation of the safety distance to the overhead power transmission lines or power stations.

Moreover, this fine shall also be imposed for entering the electricity station or climbing on power poles when not on duty; installing TV antenna, clothes line, scaffolding, advertising light box at the place that may impact on the grid upon collapse or falling; flying kite or anything that can cause fault to the power grid.

Besides, according to the Decree No. 134/2013/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, the Chairman of communal People’s Committee has the right to impose sanction to administrative violations in the electricity sector occurring in their localities. Thus, for the above acts, the Chairman of communal People’s Committee has the right to:

- Impose a caution;

- Impose a fine of between 5,000,000 dong and 10,000,000 dong on organizations.
