Vietnam: Focus on providing training to increase the capacity for trade promotion and market development

Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP dated March 01, 2018 of Vietnam’s Government on elaboration of some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade management on some measures for foreign trade management officially takes effect from March 01, 2018 and replaces Decree No. 100/2011/ND-CP.

According to Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, the State shall focus on providing training to increase the capacity for trade promotion and market development with the following main contents:

- Search, collect and process commercial information, survey and research into markets and export industries;

- Formulate and implement import and export marketing strategies;

- Develop and introduce brands of potential export industries, increase the capacity of developing and introducing brands;

- Organize and participate in trade promotion programs, conferences, fairs, exhibitions and trade exchanges;

- Organize and participate in establishing trade connection, participate in distribution systems, including trade connection through e-commerce platforms, portals, Internet and telecommunications network;

- Negotiate, sign and execute contracts; settle international trade disputes;

- Design and develop products to meet market demands;

- Other trade promotion skills decided by the Minister of Industry and Trade.
