Vietnam: Authority licensing the export and import of animal breeds

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam issued Circular No. 43/2018/TT-BNNPTNT on export and import of plant varieties, animal breeds, plant gene resources; import of agrochemicals and import of objects on the list of objects that have to undergo pest risk analysis before import.

According to Circular No. 43/2018/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, in order to be licensed for export and import of animal breeds, units shall make an application:

- Processing authority: the Department of Livestock Production

- Receiving authority: "Single-window" unit of the Department of Livestock Production

- Address: No 16 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho district, Hanoi

- Email: cn@mard.gov.vn

Also according to Circular No. 43/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, an application for the license to export animal breeds consists of:

- Application form No. 01/CN in Appendix III hereof;

- The animal breed profile which is certified by a competent authority of the exporting country and specifies the name, quality, origin, quantity, economic and technical indicators of the breed;

- A copy of the research cooperation project or contract whose content is relevant to the export of the breed.
