In Article 6 of Circular 19/2013/TT-BTNMT, the monitoring factors in groundwater resource monitoring techniques are specified as follows:

- Monitoring works for boreholes: Water level, temperature, borehole depth, and water quality.

- Monitoring works for outcrop points: Flow rate, temperature, and water quality.

- Monitoring works for balance field: Seepage amount, rainfall, evaporation amount, temperature, humidity, and water quality.

- Parameters for water quality monitoring: The parameters for monitoring the quality of groundwater resources are specified according to the following sample types:

- Comprehensive analysis samples include: Calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), total iron, aluminum (Al3+), ammonium (NH4+), bicarbonate (HCO3-), chloride (Cl-), sulfate (SO42-), carbonate (CO32-), nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), total hardness, temporary hardness, permanent hardness, pH, free CO2, corrosive CO2, aggressive CO2, silica (SiO2), total mineralization (dried at 105°C), color, odor, taste;- Iron-specific samples include: Ferrous iron (Fe2+), ferric iron (Fe3+);- Trace element samples: Depending on the characteristics of each area, appropriately select from the following parameters: Arsenic (As), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se), chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), phenol, cyanide (CN-), manganese (Mn);- Pollution study samples for organic origin: Ammonium (NH4+), nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), phosphate (PO43-), COD, Eh (Eh indicators measured in the field);- Field analysis indicators: Depending on the characteristics of each region, select from the following basic parameters: Temperature, pH, Eh, DO, Cl-, Ec, and NH4+.

More details can be found in Circular 19/2013/TT-BTNMT, effective from September 3, 2013.
