Requirements for the Evaluation of Reserve Class 122 from April 01, 2015

Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment signed and issued Circular 03/2015/BTNMT stipulating regulations on the exploration and classification of reserves, and levels of primary gold mineral resources.

In Article 5 of Circular 03/2015/BTNMT, the requirements for the evaluation of 122-grade reserves are stipulated as follows:

Requirements for Evaluation of 122-grade Reserves, 03/2015/BTNMT

First, the level of geological assessment:

- Determine the basic parameters regarding the shape, size, lying state, morphological variation rules, internal structure, and thickness variation of primary gold ore bodies. The quantity and size of the layers and intercalated rock lenses not meeting the reserve calculation criteria within the ore bodies;

- Classify natural ore types, industrial ore grades based on the characteristics of mineral composition, structure, texture, chemical composition, physical and mechanical properties, and technological properties of the ore;

- The quality of primary gold ore is evaluated in detail, clearly determining the material composition, physical and mechanical properties, and technological properties of the ore types; establishing a reasonable gold extraction and beneficiation scheme;

- Identify the hydrogeological, engineering geological features and technical mining conditions as a basis for developing a mining investment project and mining design;

- Ensure a minimum resource reliability of 50%.

Second, the boundary for reserve delineation:

The boundary of 122-grade reserves is delineated within the extent controlled by exploration works. For ore bodies with uncomplicated structures, relatively stable thickness and ore quality, limited extrapolation based on geological and geophysical data is allowed, but not exceeding one-half of the prescribed network.

Third, the feasibility evaluation of technology, engineering, and economic efficiency is conducted according to the provisions in Clause 3, Article 4 of this Circular.
