Below is the content of the regulation regarding the reorganization of commune-level administrative of under Thai Nguyen province from December 1, 2024.

On October 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 1240/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units of Thai Nguyen Province for the period 2023 - 2025.
The reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Thai Nguyen Province from December 1, 2024 is as follows:
(1) Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Dai Tu District
- Establishment of Van Phu commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 8.48 km2 and a population size of 4,102 people of Van Tho commune and the entire natural area of 18.19 km2 and a population size of 8,916 people of Ky Phu commune. After establishment, Van Phu commune has a natural area of 26.67 km2 and a population size of 13,018 people.
Van Phu commune borders the communes of Cat Ne, Luc Ba, Tan Thai, Van Yen; Pho Yen City and Vinh Phuc Province;
- Adjust a part of the natural area of 3.01 km2 and a population size of 1,565 people of Na Mao commune to merge into Phu Xuyen commune. After the adjustment, Phu Xuyen commune has a natural area of 25.93 km2 and a population size of 9,542 people.
Phu Xuyen commune borders the communes of Ban Ngoai, La Bang, Phu Cuong, Phu Thinh, Yen Lang and Tuyen Quang Province;
- Merge the entire natural area of 6.32 km2 and a population size of 2,169 people of Na Mao commune, after adjustment according to regulation at point b of this clause, into Phu Cuong commune. After the merger, Phu Cuong commune has a natural area of 22.60 km2 and a population size of 7,664 people.
Phu Cuong commune borders the communes of Duc Luong, Minh Tien, Phu Lac, Phu Thinh, Phu Xuyen, and Yen Lang;
- After the reorganization, Dai Tu District has 27 commune-level administrative units, including 25 communes and 02 commune-level towns.
(2) Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Dong Hy District
- Merge the entire natural area of 20.69 km2 and a population size of 5,802 people of Tan Loi commune into Trai Cau commune-level town. After the merger, Trai Cau commune-level town has a natural area of 27.03 km2 and a population size of 10,031 people.
Trai Cau town borders the communes of Cay Thi, Hop Tien, Nam Hoa and Phu Binh District;
- After the reorganization, Dong Hy District has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 03 commune-level towns.
(3) Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Dinh Hoa District
- Merge the entire natural area of 9.55 km2 and a population size of 4,824 people of Bao Cuong commune into Cho Chu commune-level town. After the merger, Cho Chu commune-level town has a natural area of 13.99 km2 and a population size of 12,007 people.
Cho Chu town borders the communes of Dong Thinh, Kim Phuong, Phuc Chu, Phuong Tien, Tan Duong, and Trung Hoi;
- After the reorganization, Dinh Hoa District has 22 commune-level administrative units, including 21 communes and 01 commune-level town.
(4) Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Phu Luong District
- Adjust a part of the natural area of 14.90 km2 and a population size of 6,042 people of Phan Me commune to merge into Giang Tien commune-level town. After the adjustment, Giang Tien commune-level town has a natural area of 18.67 km2 and a population size of 10,185 people.
Giang Tien town borders Du commune-level town, the communes of Co Lung, Dong Dat, Vo Tranh, and Dai Tu District;
- Merge the entire natural area of 6.29 km2 and a population size of 5,404 people of Phan Me commune, after adjustment according to regulation at point a of this clause, into Du commune-level town. After the merger, Du commune-level town has a natural area of 15.65 km2 and a population size of 15,092 people.
Du town borders Giang Tien commune-level town, the communes of Dong Dat, Tuc Tranh, Vo Tranh, Yen Lac;
- After the reorganization, Phu Luong District has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 12 communes and 02 commune-level towns.
After the reorganization of commune-level administrative units, Thai Nguyen Province has 09 district-level administrative units, including 06 districts and 03 cities; 172 commune-level administrative units, including 121 communes, 41 wards, and 10 commune-level towns.
