Procedure for Compiling Common-use Textbooks at Intermediate Level

Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training promulgated Circular 42/2011/TT-BGDDT on Regulations for Common Curricula, Organization and Compilation, and Approval for Common Curricula used at the Professional Intermediate Level.

Procedure for compiling common curriculum for intermediate level (Illustration)

According to the provisions of Article 10 of Circular 42/2011/TT-BGDDT, the procedure for compiling common curriculum is conducted as follows:

  1. The editorial committee drafts a detailed outline of the common curriculum (hereinafter referred to as the detailed outline draft) based on the requirements for the common curriculum provided in Article 3 of this Regulation.

  2. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation conducts activities to collect feedback on the detailed outline draft. The editorial committee finalizes the detailed outline draft based on the feedback received (or not received).

  3. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation conducts appraisal activities for the detailed outline draft. The editorial committee further finalizes the detailed outline draft based on the conclusions of the Appraisal Council (whether or not feedback is received).

  4. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation submits the detailed outline draft to the Minister for approval.

  5. The editorial committee compiles the common curriculum draft (hereinafter referred to as the curriculum draft) based on the detailed outline approved by the Minister and ensures the requirements for the common curriculum defined in Article 3 of this Regulation.

  6. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation conducts activities to collect feedback on the curriculum draft. If necessary, the curriculum draft can be piloted in some training institutions.

  7. The editorial committee finalizes the curriculum draft based on the feedback received (or not received).

  8. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation conducts appraisal activities for the curriculum draft. The editorial committee further finalizes the curriculum draft based on the conclusions of the Appraisal Council (whether or not feedback is received).

  9. The unit organizing the curriculum compilation submits the curriculum draft to the Minister for approval.

The appraisal of the detailed outline draft and common curriculum draft is stipulated in Articles 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 of this Regulation.
