Penalties for Violations Regarding Associations under the 1957 Law on the Right to Form Associations

According to the provisions of the Law on the Right to Form Associations 1957, any person who commits acts violating Articles 3, 4, and 5 of this Law shall, depending on the severity of the violation, be subject to a warning or prosecution before the court, and the association may be dissolved, and its assets may be confiscated.

- In cases of prosecution before the court, liable individuals will face:

- A fine ranging from one thousand dong (100,000 VND) to five thousand dong (500,000 VND) and imprisonment from one month to one year, or;- One of the two aforementioned penalties.

- In cases where an organization has been dissolved but continues to operate or reorganizes in an unlawful manner, liable individuals will face:

- Prosecution before the court and be subject to a fine ranging from two thousand dong (200,000 VND) to ten thousand dong (1,000,000 VND) and imprisonment from one month to two years, or;- One of the two aforementioned penalties;- Simultaneously, the organization will be dissolved and its assets will be confiscated.

- In cases of infringement upon the right to form associations or the freedom to join or leave associations of others, such individuals may be warned or prosecuted before the court and face imprisonment from one month to one year.
