The Minister of Transport issued Decision 1542/QD-BGTVT on the Plan to implement the peak fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2022 and the Lunar New Year of the Cat in 2023.

Specific tasks of the peak implementation plan to fight against smuggling and counterfeit goods during Tet 2023 in Vietnam

The specific tasks of the Plan to implement the peak fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2022 and the Lunar New Year of the Cat in 2023 are as follows:

- Strengthen professional measures, inspection, and strict control at transport routes from the border to the inland, effectively preventing the illegal transport of goods of unknown origin.

- Identify the key tasks of fighting to prevent smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods on road, rail, inland waterways, aviation, and maritime transport routes;

Depending on the situation and specific task requirements of each sector of the industry, flexibly mobilize the implementation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit and low-quality goods in circulation on transport routes, traffic hubs such as bus stations, railway stations, airports,...

- Propagate and coordinate with competent authorities to provide guidance to civil servants, public employees, and workers throughout the industry to recognize:

+ Prohibited goods and goods affecting national security, public health, and the environment, such as: drugs, weapons, reactionary documents, explosives, firecrackers, wild animals, wood, petroleum, coal, minerals, waste, foreign currency, gold, foreign wine, foreign cigarettes, sugar, used cars, machinery and equipment, electronics, refrigeration,...;

+ Groups that produce and trade counterfeit goods, goods that violate intellectual property rights, violate food hygiene and safety, and fraud in measurement and quality such as: mobile phones, tapes, functional foods, technologically processed foods, milk, alcohol, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed, fertilizer, petroleum, gas, livestock, poultry, livestock and poultry products, cakes - confectionery, fresh seafood,...;

+ Group of fields that are taken advantage of to violate, such as VAT refund incentives for exports, temporary imports for re-export, investment incentives, taxes for border gate economic zones,...

- Coordinate with relevant authorities to strictly control traffic hubs (bus stations, train stations, ports) and vehicle load inspection stations; Resolutely refuse to transport goods without invoices or documents or goods without clear origin.

Heads of bus stations, railway stations, ports, and transport enterprises must be responsible for the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in loading, unloading, and transportation at their units.

Objectives of the plan to peak the fight against smuggling and counterfeit goods during Tet 2023 in Vietnam

- Thoroughly implement the Directives and Resolutions of the Party, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee 389, and the Ministry of Transport on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods; fight, prevent, and reverse the deterioration of political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle of officials, civil servants, and functional forces, building a clean and strong internal structure. Promote the responsibility of the leader and attach the responsibility of the leader to work results.

- Create clear changes and improve the effectiveness of direction and management of coordination between the functional forces of the transportation sector and other functional sectors in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.

- Timely and effectively limit and prevent violations of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods on roads, railways, inland waterways, aviation, and maritime routes.
