On May 15, 2017, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 15/2017/TT-BGTVT, specifically stipulating the outputs of the venting system for cargo tanks on ships carrying dangerous chemicals.

Circular 15 stipulates that the outlets of the tank vent system must be arranged as follows:

- At a height equal to B/3 or 6 m, whichever is greater, in relation to the weather deck or, in the case of tanks located on the deck, in relation to the gangway;- Not less than 6 m above the gangway at the bow and stern if installed within 6 m of the gangway;- At least 15 m away from any door or air intake of any living quarters or service rooms;- The height of the vent pipe can be reduced to 3 m above the deck or the gangway at the bow or stern, provided that high-velocity vent valves approved by the Register are installed, which direct the vapor-gas mixture upwards in an unobstructed jet stream with an exit velocity of at least 30 m/s.

See details at Circular 15/2017/TT-BGTVT, effective from November 28, 2017.
