Maximum Total Area of School Health Clinic Shall Not Exceed 300m2

The Minister of Education and Training has recently signed and promulgated Circular 03/2020/TT-BGDDT detailing the regulations on standards and norms for the use of area in educational and training public service facilities.

According to Circular 03/2020/TT-BGDDT, the regulation stipulates the total dedicated area of the Health Station should not exceed 300m2, including the following: Head station office and on-duty doctors and nurses room; Examination room; Injection and procedure room; Nurse recording and medicine dispensing room; Medicine and equipment storage; Patient room; Patient dining room.

In addition, this Circular mandates that restrooms for staff, lecturers, and employees must be arranged according to the functional blocks, and in cases of separate restroom areas, they must be conveniently located for use without affecting the environment. Separate restrooms for men and women must be ensured; the quantity of equipment must be as follows: for men: 1 urinal per 15 people, 1 toilet per 20 people, 1 hand washing sink per 4 toilets but not less than 1; for women: 1 toilet per 15 people, 1 hand washing sink per 2 toilets but not less than 1.

For student restrooms: arranged according to the functional blocks, and in cases of separate restroom areas, they must be conveniently located for use without affecting the environment. Separate restrooms for male and female students allowing access for disabled students must be ensured; the quantity of equipment must be as follows: for male students: 1 urinal, 1 toilet, and 1 hand washing sink for 30 students, with walls/partitions between urinals and toilets; for female students: 1 toilet and 1 hand washing sink for 30 students.

Additionally, standards, norms, and calculation methods to determine the dedicated area for educational service buildings such as auditoriums, lecture halls, laboratories, practical rooms, workshops/practice farms, libraries, physical activity areas, waiting rooms for lecturers, etc. are also detailed in this Circular.
