Introduction to Freshwater Aquaculture at College Level

From February 10, 2019, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine, takes effect.

According to the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in the profession of freshwater aquaculture issued with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, freshwater aquaculture at the college level is a profession that performs tasks aimed at producing broodstock and aquaculture products that ensure quality and food safety to serve human life and provide raw materials for the processing and export aquaculture industry, meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnamese national qualification framework.

The profession of Freshwater Aquaculture has a wide operational scope in inland freshwater areas. The tasks are mainly performed in production stations, enterprises, freshwater aquatic reserves, including broodstock production, commercial farming, and preserving the broodstock of some economically valuable freshwater aquatic species; managing aquaculture water environments; preventing and treating common diseases in freshwater aquatic species. Furthermore, learners of the Freshwater Aquaculture profession can work at agricultural extension centers, state management agencies, or in the business of materials and freshwater aquaculture products.

The minimum knowledge volume is 1800 hours (equivalent to 65 credits).
