The content is stipulated in Circular 33/2016/TT-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health on September 19, 2016, regulating the organization and activities of microbiological testing in hospitals.
The implementation of infection control at the microbiology department is guided by Circular 33 as follows:
- Establish regulations for the storage of reagents, chemicals, biological products, and specimens; procedures for handling specimens after testing, processing experimental animal carcasses, and disinfecting dirty tools before transferring them to the Infection Control Department.- Daily collection of waste, sterilization of tools, washing, and preparation of sterile instruments; mopping the floors with disinfectant solutions in microbiology laboratories.- Do not directly dispose of remaining specimens or tested slides down the drain or through the sink at the testing table without prior treatment.
