Article 16 of Circular 33/2010/TT-BTNMT stipulates the general requirements for the extraction of iron ore mines in Vietnam in Vietnam:
- The basic investigation, survey, and extraction of iron ore must adhere to the sequential principles of geological investigation of minerals.
- Adequate collection of geological and mining operation data and documents is necessary, reliable, and required for the study of investment in mining works; delineating the most prospective areas and depths for exploitation.
- The task of iron ore mine extraction is to detail the characteristics of the mine's geological structure, formation origin, distribution features, shape, and positioning conditions of the ore body; assessment of the reserves, resources, quality characteristics, and technological properties of the iron ore; detailed assessment of hydrogeological conditions, engineering geology, and mining conditions; survey of the associated minerals and components and their recoverability; assessment of the volume of overburden and factors affecting the ecological environment are required.
- Iron ore extraction must be conducted over the entire area and depth where the ore body exists within the permitted extraction boundaries.
