Food Standards for Officers and Soldiers of the People's Public Security Forces

Recently, Decree 18/2013/ND-CP was issued by the Government of Vietnam stipulating material logistics standards for officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers serving in the People's Public Security force.

According to the regulations in Decree 18/2013/ND-CP, the nutrition policies for officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security must adhere to the following standards:

- Basic food standards for officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security.

- Caloric intake of 3,200 Kcal/person/day, with a reasonable structure of food quantities and proportions of energy-producing substances (Protein from 14% - 16%, Lipid from 18% - 20%, Glucid from 64% - 68%).

- Food standards for officers and soldiers engaged in particularly heavy, hazardous, or dangerous work; those injured or ill being treated in hospitals, infirmaries, or rest houses; rehabilitation diets; during training, combat, readiness to combat, maneuvers, disaster prevention, accidents, injury response, rescue and other specific tasks:

- Caloric intake, food quantities, and proportions of energy-producing substances are regulated to match the tasks of each group;- The meal allowance for officers and soldiers engaged in particularly heavy, hazardous, or dangerous work is calculated at 1.3 to 3.5 times higher than that for officers and soldiers on regular living allowances. Officers and soldiers who are injured or ill being treated in hospitals, infirmaries, or rest houses eat according to pathological standards.

Therefore, officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers currently serving in the People's Public Security forces, including those working, training, and studying in training schools of the People's Public Security and in Public Security units and local forces, consume food according to specific standards stipulated in Decree 18/2013/ND-CP.
