Recently, the Ministry of National Defense has issued Circular 75/2020/TT-BQP stipulating the application of disciplinary forms, sequence, procedures, time limits, time frames, and authority for handling discipline regarding the militia and self-defense forces.

According to Article 22 Circular 75/2020/TT-BQP regulating the application of disciplinary measures, procedures, statute of limitations, duration, and authority for handling disciplinary actions against militia and self-defense force members, from August 5, 2020, the disciplinary measures for acts violating protection regulations are as follows:
- Failure to strictly comply with regulations on patrol, guard duty, escort, will be disciplined with a reprimand or warning.
- Violation in protecting important targets will result in demotion or dismissal.
Additionally, Article 23 of Circular 75/2020/TT-BQP sets out the disciplinary measures for acts violating safety assurance regulations, specifically:
- Violating regulations on fire prevention and control; ensuring safety during training, work, labor, study, living, and traffic safety, will be disciplined with a reprimand or warning.
- Violations in one of the following cases will result in demotion or dismissal:
- Having been disciplined and not recognized for improvement but continuing to violate;- Neglecting responsibilities in preventing the consequences;- Causing loss of safety concerning people, weapons, equipment, vehicles, and assets.
