This is the content stipulated in Circular 33/2018/TT-BNNPTNT issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 16, 2018, regulating the investigation, inventory, and monitoring of forest changes.
Accordingly, the contents of the forest ecosystem diversity investigation as stipulated in Circular 33 include:
- Investigation of the area of different forest vegetation types;- Investigation of the basic characteristics of forest ecosystems, including groups of factors: forest animals, forest plants, geography, topography, climate, hydrology, and the impact of human activities;- Investigation of the structure of other ecosystems, which include: natural and artificial water bodies, grasslands, shrubs, and other habitats.
Simultaneously, Circular 33 also guides methods for investigating forest ecosystem diversity as follows:
- Using forest status maps as stipulated to identify various forest vegetation types;- Using typical standard plots with an area of 2,000 m2 to investigate forest vegetation types and describe their characteristics.
The results of the forest ecosystem diversity investigation mentioned include:
- Forest ecosystem maps showing the boundaries of the distribution of ecological vegetation types generated as per legal regulations on mapping;- Explanatory reports on forest ecosystem diversity.
