10. Apart from incurring fines, the violating operator shall also incur the following additional penalties:

b) The violation(s) specified in Points b, e and i Clause 3; Points dd, e, g and h Clause 4; Clause 5 of this Article shall lead to suspension of driving license from 1 month to 3 months;

c) The violation(s) specified in Point a Clause 6; Points a and b Clause 7; Points a, b, c and d Clause 8 of this Article shall lead to suspension of driving license from 2 months to 4 months; repetition or multiple violations of offence(s) specified in Points a, b, c and d Claus 8 of this Article shall lead to suspension of driving license from 3 months to 5 months and confiscation of vehicle. Committing violation(s) specified in Points a, g, h, k, l, m and q of Clause 1; Points b, d, e, g, l and m of Clause 2; Points b, c, k and m of Clause 3; Points dd, e, g and h of Clause 4 of this Article and causing accidents shall lead to suspension of driving license from 2 months to 4 months;

In conclusion, using a mobile phone while driving a motorcycle will result in a fine of VND 800,000 to VND 1,000,000 and the suspension of the driver's license for 1 to 3 months.

In the case of using a mobile phone while driving a motorcycle and causing a traffic accident, the driver's license will be suspended for 2 to 4 months.

Types of vehicles

A1 class licenses

A1 class licenses issued to:

- Persons controlling two-wheeled motorbikes with cylinder volume from 50 cm3 to less than 175 cm3;

- Disabled controlling motor tricycles intended for the disabled.

A2 class licenses

A2 class licenses issued to persons controlling two-wheeled motorbikes with cylinder volume from 175 to cm3 and over and other types of vehicles intended for A1 class.

A3 class licenses

A3 class licenses issued to persons controlling motor tricycles, vehicles intended for A1 class and similar vehicles.

B1 class (automatic transmission) issued to persons who do not practice as a driver 

- Automatic transmission 9-seat cars including driver seat;

- Trucks, including special trucks (automatic transmission) with design loading capacity less than 3.500 kg;

- Cars intended for the disabled.

B1 class licenses issued to persons who do not practice as a driver 

- 9-seat cars including driver seat;

- Trucks, including special trucks with design loading capacity less than 3.500 kg;

B2 class licenses issued to persons who practice as a driver

- Special cars with design loading capacity less than 3.500 kg;

- Cars intended for B1 class.
