How will a 15-year-old be penalized for operating a 50cc vehicle?
Based on the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 60 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, the age requirement for driving vehicles is stipulated as follows:
- Individuals who are 16 years old or older are permitted to drive motorcycles with an engine capacity of less than 50 cm³.
According to Clause 11, Article 2 of Decree 123/2021/ND-CP, which regulates penalties for violations of conditions of motor vehicle operators, the following is stipulated:
- A warning shall be issued to individuals from 14 years old to under 16 years old who operate motorcycles, mopeds (including electric motorcycles), and other similar vehicles to motorcycles, or operate cars, tractors, and other similar vehicles to cars.
Based on the above regulation, the Traffic Police's issuance of a penalty to you is completely correct if you are under 16 years old and operating a motorcycle. The penalty for you will be limited to a warning as stipulated in Clause 11, Article 2 of Decree 123/2021/ND-CP.
Sincerely!
