When is it Required to Pay Garbage Collection Fees by Kilogram?
Clause 1, Article 79 of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 stipulates the costs for collection, transportation, and treatment of household solid waste as follows:
The service price for collection, transportation, and treatment of household solid waste from households and individuals is calculated based on the following grounds:
- Conformity with the provisions of the law on pricing;
- Based on the weight or volume of waste that has been classified;
- Reusable and recyclable solid waste, as well as hazardous waste generated from households and individuals that have been separated, shall not be subject to the service price for collection, transportation, and treatment.
Article 170 of this Law stipulates the effect of enforcement as follows:
This Law takes effect from January 1, 2022, except as provided for in Clause 2 of this Article.
Clause 3, Article 29 of this Law takes effect from February 1, 2021.
The Law on Environmental Protection No. 55/2014/QH13, which was amended and supplemented by Law No. 35/2018/QH14, Law No. 39/2019/QH14, and Law No. 61/2020/QH14, shall cease to be effective from the date this Law comes into effect.
Therefore, from January 1, 2022, the regulation on waste collection fees per kilogram will be applied.
