Provisions on Payment for Natural Ecosystem Services
According to Clause 2, Article 138 of the Environmental Protection Law 2020 (Effective from January 1, 2022) regarding the payment for natural ecosystem services, it stipulates:
The natural ecosystem services that are paid for include:
- Forest environmental services of forest ecosystems in accordance with the provisions of the law on forestry;
- Wetland ecosystem services for the purposes of tourism, recreation, and aquaculture business;
- Marine ecosystem services for the purposes of tourism, recreation, and aquaculture business;
- Rocky mountain, cave, and geological park ecosystem services for the purposes of tourism and recreation business;
- Natural ecosystem services for the purpose of carbon absorption and storage, except as stipulated in point a of this clause.
