Means and Equipment for Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Are Regulated How?

According to Article 6 of Circular 25/2019/TT-BNNPTNT, regulations on forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles are as follows:

- Provision of forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles

+ Forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles include: motor vehicles, equipment, machinery, tools, chemicals, specialized supporting tools for fire prevention and fighting according to the provisions of fire prevention and fighting laws.+ Based on the type of forest and the actual conditions and requirements of each locality, organizations, or forest owners may augment the provision of specialized forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles as guided in Appendix I attached to this Circular.

- The provision of forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles for specialized forest fire prevention and fighting forces must ensure quantity, quality, uniformity, modernity, and meet the requirements of forest fire prevention and fighting in all forest fire situations, in accordance with the state budget capabilities and forest owner’s capacity.

- Forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles must comply with technical specifications as designed for forest fire prevention and fighting; and be managed, maintained, and repaired accordingly.

- For motorized forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles, besides being used for forest fire fighting operations; drills, and forest fire fighting plan exercises, they may only be used in the following cases: ensuring political security; ensuring public order and social safety; rescuing accident victims, handling emergency accidents, disaster prevention and mitigation, and disaster aftermath; combating illegal deforestation and patrolling, inspecting forest protection operations.

- The head of an agency or organization within their management scope has the right to mobilize forest fire prevention and fighting equipment and vehicles under their management for use in the cases stipulated in Clause 4 of this Article.
