Is the Automatic Fire Extinguishing System Subject to Regular Inspections?

At Section 7 of the Vietnam Standards TCVN 3890:2009, there are regulations regarding the inspection and maintenance of automatic fire extinguishing systems as follows:

- The automatic fire extinguishing system, after installation, must be tested for the entire system's operation. The automatic fire extinguishing system is only allowed to be put into operation when the test results show that the system meets all the design requirements and relevant standards.

- Unless there are other instructions from the manufacturer, the automatic fire extinguishing system must be periodically inspected and maintained at least once a year.

- During each periodic inspection and maintenance, except for single-use devices such as sprinkler heads, single-use heat detectors, etc., all devices and functions of the system must be inspected and tested for operation, including the quantity and quality of the extinguishing agent.

- The inspection and maintenance of the automatic fire extinguishing system shall be carried out according to TCVN 6101, TCVN 6305, TCVN 7161, other related standards, and the manufacturer's instructions.

=> According to the above regulation, the automatic fire alarm system must be inspected and maintained at least once a year periodically. In cases where the manufacturer requires, it can be inspected more frequently.
