Installing Water Meters for Clean Water Usage: Do Residents Have to Pay?

At Clause 2, Article 55 of Decree 117/2007/ND-CP on the production, supply, and consumption of clean water, there are regulations regarding the obligations of the water supply unit, including:

- Complying with procedures and regulations for operating the water supply system;

- Handling incidents and restoring water supply;

- Implementing legal provisions on water resources and environmental protection;

- Investing in the installation of pipelines to the connection point, including water meters for customers using water, unless there are other agreements;

=> Consequently, according to the aforementioned regulation, the installation and the cost of installing the water meter and pipelines to the connection point are funded by the water unit, and the residents do not have to pay for this.
