How are environmentally friendly products and services regulated?
According to Article 145 of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 (Effective from January 1, 2022) regarding environmentally friendly products and services, specifically:
Environmentally friendly products and services are those created from environmentally friendly materials, technologies, and management practices, reducing negative impacts on the environment during use and disposal, ensuring safety for the environment and human health, and certified or recognized by competent authorities.
The Vietnam Eco-label is a label certified by competent authorities of Vietnam for environmentally friendly products and services. The monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of conformity with the Vietnam Eco-label criteria for products and services must be conducted by environmental monitoring organizations as stipulated by this Law and conformity assessment organizations according to regulations on product quality, measurement law, and other relevant laws.
Vietnam recognizes environmentally friendly products and services that have been certified by international or national organizations with mutual recognition agreements with Vietnam.
The Government of Vietnam shall detail the provisions of this Article.
