Article 29 Technical procedures for investigating, surveying, and clearing mines and explosives issued together with Circular 121/2021/TT-BQP (Effective from 05/11/2021) stipulates the clearance of mines and explosives at a depth of over 5 meters to 10 meters using the drilling method as follows:
1. Conditions for implementation
- Areas with complex geology, many fragments, metal objects in the soil that are difficult for bomb detectors to detect suspicious signals of mines and explosives at a depth greater than 5 meters to 10 meters.
- Projects of special importance or as required by the investor.
2. Applicable cases: areas must clear mines and explosives at a depth of over 5 meters to 10 meters after clearing mines and explosives at a depth of up to 5 meters from the current natural ground level.
3. Equipment: drilling machine and synchronized equipment, minimum diameter plastic pipes of 76 mm; bomb detector, red flag marking signals, wooden stakes and marking ropes, pickaxe, shovel, digging tools, explosives, pyrotechnics, and detonators, water pump and accompanying accessories, various materials for constructing protective barriers against landslides.
4. Implementation sequence:
a) Proceed to mark the drilling hole positions with ropes, with a distance of 2 meters between holes in a row and between rows, depending on the depth needed to be explored, handle to determine the drilling depth and number of drilling times, but the maximum depth of the drilling hole is 5 meters, not drilling to a depth of 10 meters. The minimum diameter of the drilling hole is 80 mm, the drilling holes must be protected by a system of plastic pipes with a minimum diameter of 76 mm or other materials.
b) After drilling the holes, insert the plastic pipes into the drilled holes, proceed to clear mines and explosives following the steps as clearing mines and explosives on land with the method of lowering the detector head into the drilling hole, record and analyze the measured data (including data from neighboring drilling holes) to detect signals. Excavation, handling of signals as prescribed in Article 28 of this procedure.
