Can a Mining Construction Engineer Serve as an Underground Mining Operations Director?
According to Clause 2, Article 62 of the Mineral Law 2010, the mine operations director must meet the following standards:
- Master the legal provisions on minerals and other related legal regulations;- Master specialized technical standards, regulations on labor safety, labor hygiene, and environmental protection in mineral extraction;- Have organizational, managerial qualifications, practical experience, mining techniques, labor safety techniques, and environmental protection;
- The underground mining operations director must be a mining engineer or a mine construction engineer with at least 05 years of direct underground mining experience;

As such, according to this regulation, you as a mine construction engineer, with 3 years of direct underground mining experience, do not meet the conditions to become an underground mining operations director.
You as a mine construction engineer, must have at least 05 years of direct underground mining experience and meet other conditions to be appointed as an underground mining operations director.
