Which subjects are included in the group of technology and arts subjects in Vietnam?
In the Vietnam's General Education Program issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, it clearly states the subjects in the natural sciences and social sciences groups as follows:
2. Career-oriented educational stage
2.1. Education content
Compulsory subjects and educational activities: Literature; Mathematics; Foreign Language 1; Physical Education; National Defense and Security Education; Experiential Activities, Career Guidance; Local Education Content.
Optional subjects include 3 groups of subjects:
- Social Science Subjects Group: History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education.
- Natural Science Subjects Group: Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
- Technology and Arts Subjects Group: Technology, Informatics, Arts (Music, Fine Arts).
Students choose 5 subjects from the above 3 groups, selecting at least 1 subject from each group.
Learning Projects: Each subject including Literature, Mathematics, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Informatics, Arts has several learning projects forming a cluster of learning projects for the subject to deeply differentiate, helping students strengthen knowledge and practical skills, applying learned knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems, meeting career orientation requirements. The duration for each learning project is 10 hours or 15 hours; the total duration for a cluster of learning projects for a subject is 35 hours per academic year. In grades 10, 11, and 12, students choose 3 clusters of learning projects from 3 subjects that match their aspirations and the school's organizational capacity.
Schools can build subject combinations from the 3 groups of subjects and learning projects mentioned above to meet learners' needs while ensuring compatibility with the school's conditions in terms of teaching staff, facilities, and teaching equipment.
Elective subjects: Ethnic Minority Language, Foreign Language 2.
The group of technology and arts subjects include the following subjects:

Elective subjects: Ethnic Minority Language, Foreign Language 1 (in grades 1, 2).
b) Education Duration
Two sessions per day, a maximum of 7 lessons per day; each lesson lasts 35 minutes. Educational institutions that are not yet qualified to organize two sessions per day follow the educational plan guided by the Ministry of Education and Training.
