Prize Amount
- Students and trainees who win prizes in international Olympiads, international scientific and technical research competitions, and the WorldSkills competition are rewarded as follows:
a) Gold Medal or first prize: 55 million VND;
b) Silver Medal or second prize: 35 million VND;
c) Bronze Medal or third prize: 25 million VND;
d) Encouragement prize: 10 million VND.
2. Students and trainees who win prizes in the Asian Olympiad and the Asian Skills Competition are rewarded as follows:
a) Gold Medal: 35 million VND;
b) Silver Medal: 25 million VND;
c) Bronze Medal: 10 million VND;
d) Encouragement prize: 8 million VND.

Based on Clause 3 Article 3 of Decree 110/2020/ND-CP regulating the policies for awarding students, university students, and trainees who win prizes in national and international competitions:
Award Criteria
- Award the first-class Labor Medal to students and trainees who achieve one of the following accomplishments:
a) Winning a Gold Medal twice consecutively in international Olympiads or winning the first prize twice consecutively in international scientific and technical research competitions;
b) Winning a Gold Medal in the WorldSkills competition.
- Award the second-class Labor Medal to students and trainees who achieve one of the following accomplishments:
a) Winning a Gold Medal in international Olympiads or the first prize in international scientific and technical research competitions;
b) Winning a Silver Medal in the WorldSkills competition or a Gold Medal in the Asian Skills Competition.
3. Award the third-class Labor Medal to students and trainees who achieve one of the following accomplishments:
a) Winning a Silver Medal in international Olympiads or the second prize in international scientific and technical research competitions or a Gold Medal in the Asian Olympiad;
b) Winning a Bronze Medal in the WorldSkills competition or a Silver Medal in the Asian Skills Competition.

Based on Point h Clause 1 Article 55 of Decree 98/2023/ND-CP regulating the reward amounts for various Labor Medals:
Reward Amounts for Various Medals
- Individuals awarded or posthumously awarded medals receive a certificate, frame, and medal along with the following reward amounts:
a) “Gold Star Medal”: 46.0 times the statutory pay rate;
b) “Ho Chi Minh Medal”: 30.5 times the statutory pay rate;
c) “Independence Medal” first-class, “Military Exploit Medal” first-class: 15.0 times the statutory pay rate;
d) “Independence Medal” second-class, “Military Exploit Medal” second-class: 12.5 times the statutory pay rate;
dd) “Independence Medal” third-class, “Military Exploit Medal” third-class: 10.5 times the statutory pay rate;
e) “Labor Medal” first-class, “Victory Medal” first-class, “Fatherland Defense Medal” first-class: 9.0 times the statutory pay rate;
g) “Labor Medal” second-class, “Victory Medal” second-class, “Fatherland Defense Medal” second-class, “Great Unity Medal”: 7.5 times the statutory pay rate;
h) “Labor Medal” third-class, “Victory Medal” third-class, “Fatherland Defense Medal” third-class, and “Bravery Medal”: 4.5 times the statutory pay rate.
- Collectives awarded various medals receive a certificate, frame, medal, and a reward amount double the individual prize amount specified in Clause 1 of this Article.
Thus, students winning a Gold Medal in the Asian Olympiad and receiving the third-class Labor Medal will receive an additional reward amounting to 4.5 times the statutory pay rate.

Statutory Pay Rate
- The statutory pay rate serves as the basis for:
a) Calculating salaries in various pay scales, allowance rates, and other policies as per the law for entities specified in Article 2 of this Decree;
b) Calculating operational and living expenses as stipulated by law;
c) Calculating deductions and benefits based on the statutory pay rate.
- Effective from July 01, 2024, the statutory pay rate is 2,340,000 VND/month.
