*VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE

- Preservation and development of Vietnamese language

- Logical errors, ambiguous sentence errors, and how to correct them

- Rhetorical measures particularly sarcasm and paradox: characteristics and effects

- Types of texts and genres

+ Persuasive texts: the role of arguments, reasoning, and evidence; the writer's purpose, emotions, and viewpoints; methods to enhance affirmation and negation in persuasive texts;methods of argumentation and expressive language; speeches in the inauguration of a movement or social activity; essays on issues related to young people; comparative essays evaluating two literary works of the same or different genres

+ Informational texts: the value of the topic, the main information of the text; types of data and the reliability of data; business correspondence; reports of project results or research results on a natural or social issue

- Respecting and protecting intellectual property rights in study and research

- Basic characteristics of formal and informal language: understanding and applying

- Non-verbal communication means: images, figures, charts, diagrams, etc.

*LITERATURE KNOWLEDGE

- Cognitive, educational, and aesthetic functions of literature

- The alignment between themes, ideas, and main inspirations

- Some manifestations of artistic style in folk literature, medieval literature, modern literature, realistic tendencies, and romanticism; the artistic style of authors

- Some elements of the supernatural tale, novels (modern and post-modern), modern lyrical poetry, comedy, and memoirs

+ Supernatural tales: topics, characters, language, artistic techniques; evaluating the role of the supernatural elements in supernatural tales, relating to their role in folk tales

+ Novels (modern and post-modern): language, psychological progression, actions of characters

+ Modern lyrical poetry: language, images, symbols, elements of symbolism, and surrealism

+ Comedy: language, characters, situations, satirical techniques

+ Reports, diaries, or memoirs: non-fiction nature, description, narrative; combination of realistic details and events with the author's experiences, attitudes, and evaluations

- Psychological developments of characters and ways to portray character psychology by the writer

- The relationship of the narrator, perspective in expressing the theme of the text

- Basic knowledge about Ho Chi Minh that aids in comprehending several representative works by this author

- An overview of literary history and the role of background knowledge in comprehending literary texts
