Pursuant to Article 14 of Circular 23/2023/TT-BGDDT stipulating the requirements for teaching and learning as follows:

Requirements for Teaching and Learning

  1. Design lessons based on basic activities, including: Activity 1: warm-up, connection; Activity 2: exploration, practice; Activity 3: application, experience.
  1. Diversify teaching and learning activities (word and sentence teaching activities; role-playing and educational games; singing, poetry, and folklore activities; painting and drawing activities; storytelling activities...) through various forms and methods of organization (modeling, practice, experience...) to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness.
  1. Be flexible in organizing activities for children and in the use of teaching language materials and tools suitable for conditions and children's psychology. After each lesson, children should be given a break between lessons, with transition breaks lasting from 5 to 10 minutes. The maximum duration of a teaching session is 120 minutes.

Thus, the requirements for teaching and learning Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering the first grade are:

- Lessons are designed based on three basic activities:

+ Activity 3: application, experience.

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 12 of Circular 23/2023/TT-BGDDT stipulating conditions for implementation as follows:

Preparation of Conditions for Implementation

  1. Regarding facilities and teaching aids:
    a) The location for teaching and learning at primary school: at the main school or at the satellite schools of the primary school ensuring convenient transportation, safety, and suitable for children's psychology.
    b) The classroom must be hygienic, safe, cool, well-lighted, with suitable, comfortable desks and chairs, and sufficient clean water; a friendly space with a local cultural corner and a language support corner...
    c) The classroom must be fully equipped with teaching aids, teaching equipment, and teaching materials to ensure efficient and quality Vietnamese teaching and learning for ethnic minority children before entering the First Grade.

Thus, the classroom for teaching and learning Vietnamese to ethnic minority children before entering the first grade must meet requirements for sanitation, safety, coolness, adequate lighting, suitable, comfortable desks and chairs, and sufficient clean water; a friendly space with a local cultural corner and a language support corner...

What is the Maximum Duration for Teaching and Learning Vietnamese to Ethnic Minority Children Before Entering the First Grade?

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 11 of Circular 23/2023/TT-BGDDT stipulating the development of the teaching plan as follows:

Development of the Teaching Plan

  1. Duration and time: The implementation duration should not exceed 80 class periods (each period is 35 minutes), with a maximum of one month; implementation time is during the summer before children start the the First Grade program. Localities and schools can arrange the time and duration flexibly to suit their practical situations.
  2. Allocation of teaching time: Depending on the classroom conditions, teachers, the target children, and living conditions in each locality, the principal and specialized departments should make a detailed plan for teaching and learning Vietnamese suitable and effective for ethnic minority children before entering the First Grade.
  3. Based on the requirements and objectives to be achieved and the detailed plan for teaching Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering the First Grade, teachers should develop teaching plans appropriate to the actual situation and submit them for approval by the principal before implementation.

Thus, the maximum duration for teaching and learning Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering the first grade is one month.

The teaching and learning of Vietnamese for ethnic minority children should be implemented during the summer before the children start the the First Grade program. Localities and schools can arrange the time and duration flexibly to suit their practical situations.
