What are the enrolment eligibility for the master's training program in Vietnam?
According to Article 5 of the enrolment and training for master’s degree issued with Circular 23/2021/TT-BGDDT, the enrolment eligibility for the master's training program are as follows:
- Requirements for applicants:
+ Have graduated or met the requirements for university graduation (or equivalent or higher level) in a relevant field. A relevant field is defined as:
++ The training field at the university level (or equivalent or higher level) equips learners with the necessary professional foundation to continue the master's training program of the corresponding field, specifically defined in the enrolment standards of the master's training program;
++ Training institutions specify cases that must complete additional study requirements before applying.
++ For management and administration fields, training According to an application-oriented master's program, the relevant field at the university level includes those directly related to the professional field of management, administration.
++ For research-oriented programs, graduation ranking of good or higher is required or having scientific publications related to the field of study, research;
+ Proficiency in a foreign language level 3 or higher according to the Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, specifically, candidates meet this requirement when holding one of the following degrees, certificates:
++ A graduation degree at the university level or higher in a foreign language; or a graduation degree at the university level or higher where the program was conducted mainly in a foreign language;
++ A graduation degree at the university level or higher granted by the training institution within the last 02 years, where the program's output standards have met the foreign language proficiency requirement of level 3 or higher according to the Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam;
++ One of the diplomas or certificates of a foreign language meeting the level 3 or higher requirement according to the Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam or other equivalent certificates published by the Ministry of Education and Training, valid until the registration date of application.
+ Meeting other requirements of the training program standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and regulations of the training program.
* Foreign applicants who wish to enroll in master's programs taught in Vietnamese must achieve level 4 Vietnamese proficiency according to the Vietnamese Proficiency Framework for foreigners or have graduated from a university (or equivalent or higher) where the program was taught in Vietnamese; meet the second foreign language requirement prescribed by the training institution (if any).
- For training programs taught and learned in a foreign language, applicants must meet the foreign language requirement as follows:
+ A graduation degree at the university level or higher in the language used for instruction; or a graduation degree at the university level or higher where the program was conducted mainly in the language used for instruction;
+ One of the diplomas or certificates in the language used for instruction meeting the level 4 or higher requirement according to the Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam or other equivalent certificates published by the Ministry of Education and Training, valid until the registration date of application.

What are the forms of master's training in Vietnam?
According to Article 3 of the enrolment and training for master’s degree issued with Circular 23/2021/TT-BGDDT, the forms and duration of master's training programs are prescribed as follows:
Forms and Duration of Training
1. The formal training form applies to both research-oriented and application-oriented programs. The part-time training form applies to application-oriented programs. The organization of teaching activities for each form of training follows the university-level training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- For each form of training, the training institution provides a standard training plan for the entire course for each training program to guide students. The duration of training is prescribed as follows:
a) The time according to the standard training plan for the entire course must comply with the time prescribed in the National Education System Framework, ensuring that the majority of students complete the training program;
b) The time according to the standard training plan for part-time training is at least 20% longer than the formal training form of the same training program;
c) The maximum time for students to complete the course is prescribed in the training institution's regulations but must not exceed 02 times the time according to the standard training plan for each form of training.
Thus, there are two forms of master's training:
- Formal training form;
- Part-time training form.

Training institutions can organize online enrolment if they meet quality assurance conditions to ensure reliable and fair assessment results as in direct enrolment.
