Based on Section 3 of the Regular Retraining Program for Teachers at General Education Institutions issued under Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, testing and assessing students in general education institutions towards the development of qualities and competencies of students in Vietnam is provided in Module 06.
Module 06 is as follows:
(1) Name of the retraining module: testing and assessing students in general education institutions towards the development of qualities and competencies of students under retraining requirements according to the Professional Development Standards.
(2) Main contents of the module:
- General issues about testing and assessing towards the development of qualities and competencies of students in general education institutions.
- Methods, forms, and instruments for testing and assessing towards the development of student qualities and competencies in general education institutions.
- Application of methods, forms, and instruments in testing and assessing the development of student qualities and competencies in general education institutions.
(3) Duration: 40 lessons (16 theory lessons, 24 practice lessons)
(4) Required outcomes:
- Present general issues on testing and assessing; methods, forms, and techniques of testing and assessing towards the development of qualities and competencies of students in general education institutions, appropriate for each level of education;
- Apply methods, forms, and instruments for testing and assessing; construct criteria, matrices, and question papers for testing and assessing towards the development of student qualities, competencies, and progress in general education institutions;
- Support colleagues in effectively implementing the testing and assessing of student learning outcomes and progress in general education institutions towards the development of qualities and competencies of students.

GUIDELINES FOR PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
1. The implementation of the Regular Retraining Program for teachers at general education institutions includes 03 retraining programs as stipulated in Section III of this Program.
2. Retraining duration:
a) Each teacher at a general education institution must ensure the specific training duration as follows:
- retraining program 01: Approximately 1 week/school year (about 40 lessons/school year);
- retraining program 02: Approximately 1 week/school year (about 40 lessons/school year);
- Retraining Program 03: 1 week/school year (40 lessons/school year);

The Retraining Program 03 requires a duration of 40 lessons/year, and the regular retraining module on testing and assessing students has a duration of 40 lessons.
The regular retraining module on testing and assessing students meets 100% of the lesson duration of Retraining Program 03. Thus, teachers who choose this retraining module do not need to select additional retraining modules.
