According to Section 3 of the Regular Retraining Program for Teachers of General Education Institutions issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, the retraining program on the improvement of the teacher's ethical qualities in the current context is stipulated as follows:

(1) Module title: improvement of the teacher's ethical qualities in the current context under retraining requirements according to the Teacher's Quality Standards.

(2) Module code: GVPT 01

(3) Main content of the module:

- Ethical qualities of teachers in the current context.

- Regulations on teacher's ethics.

- Self-training, self-discipline, and striving to improve the ethical qualities of teachers.

(4) Implementation time: 20 lessons (8 theoretical lessons, 12 practical lessons)

(5) Required outcomes:

- Analyze the current ethical status of teachers in the present context (inadequacies, lessons learned from teacher ethics violations, exemplary ethical teachers affecting moral education and teaching activities for students); relate to different educational levels;

- Apply regulations on teacher ethics to develop and implement self-training and self-discipline plans to improve the ethical qualities of teachers;

- Support colleagues in striving to improve the ethical qualities of teachers.

What is the duration required for Retraining Program 03 of teachers in general education institutions in Vietnam?

Under Section 4 of the Regular Retraining Program for Teachers of General Education Institutions issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT:

GUIDELINES FOR PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

1. The implementation of the Regular Retraining Program for teachers at general education institutions includes 03 retraining programs as stipulated in Section III of this Program.

2. Retraining duration:

a) Each teacher at a general education institution must ensure the specific training duration as follows:

- retraining program 01: Approximately 1 week/school year (about 40 lessons/school year);

- retraining program 02: Approximately 1 week/school year (about 40 lessons/school year);

- Retraining Program 03: 1 week/school year (40 lessons/school year);

b) Based on task requirements and local education plans for each school year, educational management levels may adjust the duration of retraining program 01 and retraining program 02 suitably but cannot change the duration of Retraining Program 03 for each teacher at general education institutions (ensuring 120 lessons/year);

c) Based on Retraining Program 03, teachers at general education institutions may choose modules for training suitable to personal development needs of qualities and professional competencies each year, ensuring compliance with the stipulated duration.

3. The implementation of the Regular Retraining Program for teachers at general education institutions is carried out annually in accordance with the regular training regulations issued by the Minister of Education and Training.

Teachers of general education institutions implement the Regular Retraining Program ensuring the duration of retraining Program 01 is 01 week/school year (40 lessons/school year).

However, educational management levels can adjust the retraining duration based on the task requirements and the educational plan of the locality for each school year.

Are teachers currently teaching at primary schools in Vietnam required to complete Retraining Program 03?

The retraining participants are stated in Section 2 of the Regular Retraining Program for Teachers of General Education Institutions issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT as follows:

The Regular Retraining Program for teachers in general education institutions is applicable to teachers currently teaching in primary schools, lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, schools with multiple educational levels, specialized schools, boarding and semi-boarding ethnic secondary schools (hereinafter referred to as general education institutions).

Teachers currently teaching at primary schools are required to complete Retraining Program 03.
