Pursuant to Chapter II of the Regulation on Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT, the quality evaluation standards for higher education institutions are as follows:

(1). QUALITY ASSURANCE IN STRATEGY

Standard 5: Policies on training, scientific research, and community service

What are steps of the quality accreditation process for educational institutions in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 29 of the Regulation on Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT:

Quality Accreditation Process and Cycle for Educational Institutions

  1. The quality accreditation process for educational institutions is carried out in the following steps:

a) Self-assessment;

b) External assessment;

c) Evaluation of assessment results;

d) Recognition of meeting the quality standards of education.

  1. The quality accreditation cycle for educational institutions is 5 years.

Thus, the quality accreditation process for educational institutions includes 04 steps:

Step 1: Self-assessment;

Step 2: External assessment;

Step 3: Evaluation of assessment results;

Step 4: Recognition of meeting the quality standards of education.

What is the time limit for evaluating the quality assessment results of education in vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 44 of the Regulation on Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT, the regulations on the time limit and dossier for evaluating the quality assessment results of education are as follows:

  1. Within 6 months from the date of receiving the written request for recognition of meeting the quality standards of education from the educational institution, the quality accreditation organization shall hold a meeting of the Quality Accreditation Council to evaluate the quality assessment results of education.

  2. The dossier for evaluating the quality assessment results of education includes: self-assessment report; external assessment report; written request from the educational institution for recognition of meeting the quality standards of education; feedback document from the educational institution on the external assessment report; feedback document from the external assessment team sent to the educational institution on the adoption or maintenance of opinions; summary report of self-assessment and external assessment results; summary document of issues to be focused on discussion.

  3. The secretariat shall assist the Quality Accreditation Council in planning the evaluation of the quality assessment results of education, preparing the dossier for evaluation, and sending the dossier to the council members at least 15 working days prior to the council meeting.

Thus, the time limit for evaluating the quality assessment results of education is 6 months from the date of receiving the written request for recognition of meeting the quality standards of education of the educational institution.

What are the conditions for recognizing an educational institution as meeting the quality standards of education in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 46 of the Regulation on Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT, the conditions for recognizing an educational institution as meeting the quality standards of education are as follows:

- There must be at least one cohort of graduated learners.

- It must have undergone an external assessment and submitted a written request to the quality accreditation organization for recognition of meeting the quality standards of education. For educational institutions requiring information confidentiality according to State regulations, the educational institution must submit a written request to send the external assessment results to the direct management agency, and simultaneously request recognition of meeting the quality standards of education.

- After the quality assessment results are evaluated, the educational institution must have an average score of 3.5 or higher for the standards in each section of Chapter 2 of the Regulation on Quality Accreditation for Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT and no standard should have an average score below 2.0.
