Salary coefficient of preschool teachers in Vietnam

Based on Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 01/2021/TT-BGDDT:

Salary Grading Method

1. Public employees appointed to the professional titles of preschool teachers specified in this Circular shall apply the corresponding salary scales issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government of Vietnam regarding salary policies for officials and public employees and armed forces. To be specific:

a) Preschool Teacher Rank III, code V.07.02.26, is applied the salary coefficient of public employee type A0, from salary coefficient 2.10 to salary coefficient 4.89;

b) Preschool Teacher Rank II, code V.07.02.25, is applied the salary coefficient of public employee type A1, from salary coefficient 2.34 to salary coefficient 4.98;

c) Preschool Teacher Rank I, code V.07.02.24, is applied the salary coefficient of public employee type A2, group A2.2, from salary coefficient 4.0 to salary coefficient 6.38.

Besides, Article 3, Decree 73/2024/ND-CP stipulates:

Statutory Pay Rate

1. The statutory pay rate is used as a basis for:

a) Calculating salaries in pay scales, allowances, and implementing other policies as per legal regulations for subjects stipulated in Article 2 of this Decree;

b) Calculating operational costs, living allowances as per legal regulations;

c) Calculating deductions and policies entitled to the statutory pay rate.

2. From July 1, 2024, the statutory pay rate is 2,340,000 VND/month.

What are the Duties of Preschool Teacher Rank III in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 1, Article 3 of Circular 01/2021/TT-BGDDT, the duties of Preschool Teacher Rank III - Code V.07.02.26 are as follows:

- Perform nurturing, caring, and educating children according to the school's and specialized group's educational plans; be responsible for the quality and efficiency of nurturing, caring, and educating children in the groups or classes assigned, according to the Preschool Education Program; implement inclusive education and children's rights;

- Exercise for health; complete courses, professional and vocational training programs; self-study, self-improve political, professional, and vocational levels; participate in professional activities; preserve and use the educational equipment assigned;

- Cooperate with parents or guardians and the community in nurturing, caring for, and educating children;

- Fulfill the civic duties, laws, policies of the Education sector, school, and local area;

- Perform other tasks assigned by the principal.

What are the Duties of Preschool Teacher Rank II in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 1, Article 4 of Circular 01/2021/TT-BGDDT, the duties of Preschool Teacher Rank II - Code V.07.02.25 are as follows:

- Act as a reporter or demonstrate teaching at teacher training classes at the school level or higher; guide colleagues to implement the program and nurturing, caring, educational activities for children;

- Propose training content and thematic activities in the professional team (block);

- Participate as a judge in preschool level competitions from the school level or higher;

- Participate in other professional activities such as the self-assessment council or external assessment team; inspect professional skills at the school level or higher; participate in guiding and evaluating student teaching practice (if any).

What are the Duties of Preschool Teacher Rank I in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 01/2021/TT-BGDDT, the duties of Preschool Teacher Rank I - Code V.07.02.24 are as follows:

- Participate in editing or compiling training materials for preschool teachers at the district level or higher;

- Participate in training or advising, suggesting, supporting, leading, sharing professional skills and expertise for preschool teachers from the school level or higher;

- Participate as a judge in preschool level competitions from the district level or higher;

- Participate in the self-assessment council or external assessment team or inspect professional skills at the district level or higher.
