9 national defense theory lessons for grade 12 in the 2024-2025 school year in Vietnam (Newest) 

First, based on Section 4 of the Program attached to Circular 46/2020/TT-BGDDT, the requirements to achieve for the subject of National Defense and Security Education at the upper secondary school level include the following key qualities and general competences:

National Defense and Security Education contributes to the formation and development of students' essential qualities and general competences according to the appropriate levels for the subject and educational level as specified in the overall Program issued with the General Education Program by the Minister of Education and Training.

In addition, based on the provisions of Article 11 of the Law on National Defense and Security Education 2013:

Upper secondary schools, Vocational Secondary Schools, and Professional Secondary Schools

1. National Defense and Security Education in upper secondary schools, vocational secondary schools, and professional secondary schools is a compulsory subject.

2. Ensure that students have initial understanding about the all-people national defense and people's security; about the tradition of national defense against foreign invaders, the people's armed forces, and Vietnamese military arts; basic and necessary knowledge about civil defense and military skills to be ready to fulfill the military service obligation to protect the Fatherland.

3. Organize teaching and learning according to the program distribution. During the academic year, depending on specific conditions, cooperate with relevant agencies, organizations, and units to organize extracurricular activities for students with appropriate content and form.

It is indicated that national defense and security education is a compulsory subject at upper secondary schools.

What are principles in education of national defense and security for grade 12 students in Vietnam?​

Based on the provisions of Article 5 of the Law on National Defense and Security Education 2013, national defense and security education must ensure the following principles:

- Comply with the Constitution and laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the unified management of the State.

- National defense and security education is the responsibility of the entire political system and the whole people, with the State playing a leading role.

- Combine national defense and security education with education on political ideology, dissemination, legal education, and building a strong, comprehensive base.

- Comprehensive education, focused and key, with appropriate forms; combining theory and practice, between theory and practice.

- The program and content of national defense and security education must be suitable for each subject, promptly meeting the actual situation.

- Ensure state secrets, planning, continuity, development, scientific nature, modernity, comprehensibility, practicality, and effectiveness.

Who can participate in the National Defense Education Sports Games for upper secondary school students in Vietnam?

Based on the provisions of Clause 1, Article 3 of the Regulations on the National Defense Education Sports Festival for upper secondary school Students issued with Decision 27/2004/QD-BGD&DT, the participants in the National Defense Education Sports Games for upper secondary school students are as follows:

Participants and Components of the Sports Games

1. Participants in the Sports Festival: upper secondary school students of various types of schools

2. Components of participation: each Department of Education and Training sends a team of 9 students (including 3 students from grade 10, 3 students from grade 11, and 3 students from grade 12); 1 coach and 1 team leader.

3. The list of students participating in the sports festival (according to the form sent to the units at the beginning of the academic year organizing the sports festival) is sent to the Ministry of Education and Training (through the Department of National Defense Education), 49 Dai Co Viet, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

Thus, according to the regulations above, organizing the National Defense Education Sports Games for upper secondary school students is for upper secondary school students of various types of schools.
