Plan for COVID-19 vaccination in Ho Chi Minh City from August 15 - September 15

According to Plan 2715/KH-BCD, Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has issued a detailed plan for vaccination from August 15 to September 15, 2021.

According to Vietnam's Plan 2715/KH-BCD, regarding the vaccination plan, the City People's Committee of Vietnam sets the following goals:

- By September 15, more than 70% of people (over 18 years old) received the 1st injection, 15% of the people received the 2nd injection.

- Complete the first dose vaccination for the remaining 15% of workers in industrial parks, export processing zones, and high-tech zones; prepare for the second round of injection, proceed to inject all workers in enterprises in the area.

- Complete the 1st injection for elderly subjects with underlying diseases.

Plan details

From August 15 to August 31, the city aims to complete the injection of more than 3 million doses of the vaccine to ensure that more than 70% of people receive the first dose, completing the second dose for about 1 million people.

+ The city focuses on giving priority to vaccination for people over 65 years old, people with underlying diseases, pregnant women; workers of enterprises inside and outside industrial parks, export processing zones, high-tech zones; disadvantaged people, and other subjects according to regulations.

+ Vaccination forms that are diverse and flexible; prioritize the second injection for workers in food and food production units, for medical protection and environmental sanitation; develop a vaccination plan for each area and area at risk.

+ Strengthen coordination of vaccine supply and vaccination teams for districts with low vaccine coverage. Ensure that people in the groups that need to be vaccinated with caution (people with underlying diseases, the elderly, pregnant women over 13 weeks) have access to full vaccination.

From September 1 to September 15, the city organizes vaccination for the remaining people and a second dose booster as prescribed (400,000 people); vaccination can be extended to people aged 12-18 years old if there is a vaccine source that allows vaccination in this age group.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires vaccination based on two pillars: transparency and voluntary; and publicizing the results of daily vaccinations and the number of vaccines the city is managing for people to monitor.

The City People's Committee also assigned the Working Group to negotiate and purchase COVID-19 vaccines and the Coordination Center for COVID-19 vaccination to coordinate with relevant agencies to advise the City People's Committee on negotiating, receiving, and organizing vaccination.
