According to Resolution 03/2022/NQ-HDND of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City on regulations on the monthly allowance of the captain's quarters (hamlets), the increased workday allowance and additional workday allowance for the Standing Militia and Militia while on duty shall be prescribed as follows:

Subjects of application: Captain's quarter (hamlet), standing militia, on-site militia, mobile militia, air defense militia, artillery militia, reconnaissance militia, engineer militia, information militia, defense militia, medical militia in the city.

**The monthly allowance of the Captain's Zone (hamlet) is as follows:

The captain's quarter (hamlet) is entitled to a monthly allowance equal to VND 800,000/person/month.

Allowance for Labor Day; additional working day allowance for Standing Militia in Vietnam

Standing militiamen are entitled to a labor day allowance of 150,000 VND/person/day; in the event that the time limit for fulfilling the obligation to join the Militia and Self-Defense Force is extended according to the decision of the competent authority, the working day allowance is increased by 70,000 VND/person/day.

Extra working day allowance for Militia while on duty (except for the Standing Militia and Marine Militia);

Local militia, mobile militia, air defense militia, artillery militia, reconnaissance militia, engineer militia, information militia, chemical defense militia, medical militia, when authorized by competent authorities to mobilize on duty, receive a working day allowance equal to 150,000 VND/person/day;

In the event that the time limit for fulfilling the obligation to join the Militia and Self-Defense Force is extended according to the decision of the competent authority, the working day allowance will be increased by VND 70,000/person/day.

The city budget shall arrange the budget estimates for the implementation of the resolution according to the decentralization of the state budget and current regulations.

What is a self-defense militia?

According to Clause 1, Article 2 of the Law on Militia and Self-Defense 2019, militia and self-defense forces refer to mass armed forces not separated from production and work, called militia if organized locally and self-defense forces if organized in regulatory authorities, political organizations, socio-political organizations, public service providers and economic organizations (hereinafter referred to as agencies and organizations).

Currently, there are five militia and self-defense components as follows:

- On-site militia and self-defense forces refer to militia and self-defense forces operating in wards, communes, villages, hamlets and neighborhoods (hereinafter referred to as villages) and in agencies and organizations.

- Mobile militia and self-defense force refer to mobile militia and self-defense forces operating in many divisions according to decisions of competent authorities.

- Standing militia refers to standing forces operating in vital areas in terms of national defense.

- Marine militia and self-defense forces refer to militia and self-defense forces operating in islands and territorial waters of Vietnam.

- Expansion of militia and self-defense forces refers to conscription of citizens within the group age who have not participated in military duty, militia and self-defense force duties and citizens who have participated in militia and self-defense force duties and reservists who have not been conscripted into reserve forces for militia and self-defense forces.

Age to join the Militia and Self-Defense Forces in Vietnam

Male citizens between the ages of 18 and 45, and female citizens between the ages of 18 and 40, are required to join the Militia and Self-Defense Forces; if volunteering to join the Militia and Self-Defense Force, the age limit can be extended to the end of 50 for men and the end of 45 for women.
