Below are the activities of parents and the parent committees in Vietnam according to the Charter issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT.

Activities of parents and the parent committees according to Article 9 of the Regulations issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT are as follows:
* Meetings of all parents:
- At the beginning of the school year, the class homeroom teacher organizes a meeting of all parents to designate the class parent committees with the number of members specified at point a, clause 1, Article 3 of the Regulations issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT. During the school year, three all-parent meetings are organized: At the beginning of the school year, at the end of the first semester, and at the end of the school year, and emergency meetings when at least 50% of the parents in the class request;
- The decision to organize or not to organize an all-parent school meeting is made by the school parent committees.
* Meetings of the parent committees:
- At the beginning of the school year, the class homeroom teacher convenes the first meeting of the class parent committees to elect the head and deputy heads of the board. After being elected, the head directs the meeting of all parents to approve the activity program for the whole school year.
The class parent committees organizes regular meetings according to the annual activity program and can hold emergency meetings when requested by at least 50% of the parents or decided by the head of the class parent committees;
- At the beginning of the school year, the principal meets with the heads and deputy heads of all class parent committeess to elect the school parent committees from among the attendees, and can elect absent persons if they have agreed to participate.
Following this, the principal chairs the first meeting of the school parent committees to elect the head, deputy heads, and if necessary, regular members. After being elected, the head leads the meeting of all heads and deputy heads of class parent committeess to approve the activity program for the whole school year;
The school parent committees holds regular meetings based on the annual activity program and emergency meetings when requested by at least 50% of members or the head proposes.
* The parent committees organizes activities to implement the duties, rights of the parent committees and the contents, plans of activities discussed and agreed upon in meetings of parents, the parent committees.
Regulations on the organization of the parent committees in Vietnam according to Article 3 of the Regulations issued with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT are as follows:
* Class parent committees.
- Each class has a parent committees consisting of 3 to 5 members, including the head and a deputy head.
- Members of the class parent committees are enthusiastic and responsible individuals who work with the class homeroom teacher, subject teachers, school, and represent the parents in the class to engage in student educational activities.
* School parent committees.
- Each school has a parent committees consisting of a head, deputy heads, and regular members (if necessary).
- Members of the school parent committees are the heads or deputy heads of the class parent committeess.
- The number of deputy heads and regular members (if any) of the school parent committees is decided by the meeting of heads and deputy heads of all class parent committeess.
* The term of the class parent committees and school parent committees is one school year; the term of parent committeess ends at the start of the next school year, except for the terminal class parent committees term which ends at the end of the school year.
* Members of the parent committees can be changed or supplemented as needed based on the head's proposal. Changes or additions to members of the class parent committees are decided by all class parents; changes or additions to members of the school parent committees are decided by the whole school parent committees.
* The parent committees operates on a consensus principle. Contents discussed and agreed upon in the parent committees meetings are recorded in the meeting minutes.
