This is the directive of the Minister of Education and Training in Directive 3798/CT-BGDDT sent to all officials and public employees in the education sector and teachers to rectify the use of textbooks and reference books in schools.
Accordingly:
- To ensure the textbooks are used durably, the Ministry requests general education institutions and teachers to instruct students on how to use and preserve textbooks properly, and remind students not to write or draw in the textbooks;- To avoid the wasteful use of reference publications and rectify the situation where students have to purchase too many reference books, the Ministry will strengthen inspections, supervision, and strictly handle violations of the regulations in Circular 21/2014/TT-BGDDT.
At the same time, the Ministry also requires the General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House to review and re-evaluate the current textbook printing and distribution process, and to devise solutions for amending textbook drafts to minimize students' writing in textbooks.
