Standards for Auditing Public Interest Entities

From July 1, 2016, Decree 84/2016/ND-CP on standards and conditions for practicing auditors and audit organizations accepted to audit public interest entities takes effect.

Practicing auditors who are accepted must meet the standards stipulated in the Law on Independent Audit 2011 and:

- Have their names listed in the roster of auditors eligible to practice in the approval period publicly announced by the Ministry of Finance at the time of submitting the application for audit execution;- Have at least 24 months of practical audit experience in Vietnam from the date of confirmation by the competent authority of eligibility to practice as an auditor to the date of submitting the application for audit execution.

Additionally, the Decree also stipulates the conditions for audit organizations to be accepted for auditing public interest entities.
