Roadmap for Applying Import and Export Border Gates for Temporary Import and Re-export Goods

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade promulgated Circular 09/2020/TT-BCT, stipulating the roadmap for applying import and export border gates for goods temporarily imported for re-export, transshipment business, and bonded warehouse storage.

Circular 09/2020/TT-BCT stipulates regulations on import and export border gates for temporarily imported goods to re-export, transshipment business, and goods sent to bonded warehouses, effective from 00:00 January 1, 2021. To be specific:

- Temporarily imported goods to re-export, transshipment business, if imported into or re-exported out of Vietnam through land borders, such import or re-export is only allowed through international border gates, main border gates (bilateral border gates) established under Decree 11/2014/ND-CP on the management of land border gates;- The above regulation also applies to temporarily imported goods to re-export sent to bonded warehouses if such goods are imported into or re-exported out of Vietnam through land borders.
