Procedure for Urgent Maintenance Dredging of Inland Waterway Channels

Recently, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 33/2019/TT-BGTVT regulating dredging activities in inland waterway areas.

The emergency dredging and maintenance of the inland waterway channels shall be carried out in the following order:

- Submit and approve the emergency task;- Organize the selection of the executing unit;- Prepare and approve the design and cost estimate of the project;- Handover the site, organize the construction of the project, and conduct supervision;- Acceptance, prepare project's completion documentation;- Consolidate and supplement the inland waterway project maintenance plan; allocate state budget estimates;- Payment and settlement of the project.

In which, the organization for selection of consulting units and contractors must be based on the policy implementation of the task and the capability and experience of the consulting units. No later than 15 days from the date of policy acceptance, the survey organization must hand over the site, prepare the design, and cost estimate.
