Methods for road infrastructure asset maintenance in Vietnam

Circular No. 48/2019/TT-BGTVT on criteria for supervision and commissioning of quality-based road infrastructure asset maintenance and application of methods for road infrastructure asset maintenance was issued on December 17, 2019 by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam.

According to Circular No. 48/2019/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, methods for road infrastructure asset maintenance include:

- Workload-based maintenance refers to maintenance carried out based on the actual workload;

- Quality-based maintenance refers to maintenance based on quality criteria in a period of time and using a certain amount of money as prescribed in the economic contract.

Moreover, Circular No. 48/2019/TT-BGTVT also stipulates that the duration of a contract on quality-based road infrastructure asset maintenance shall not exceed 05 years.
